                                                            Simple Present Tense
       The tense indicates an action  what is actually occurring in the present. In this tense verb express simple statement,universal truth and also tell about habits.We will learn about simple present tense uses and examples.

 Singular              Plural                      In the Simple present tense, when the subject is third person

  I  take                We take                     singular, always add an s to the verb. But, if the subject is

 You take             You take                   third person plural, the verb does not carry an s. 

 He takes

 She takes            They take

 It takes

Rule :- Subject+ First form of Verb + Object
Eg :   I read good books.
 

Uses of Simple Present Tense:-


a) To Express Universal Truth.
1) The sun rises in the east.  2) Light travels faster than sound.


b) To Express Habitual Action.                                                       
 1) She writes with her left hand. 2) They visit the temple on Thursday.


c) To Express of a Future Event which is a Part of Present Plan.
  1)  Sharon marries Ramesh next Sunday. 2) We leave for Pune tomorrow morning.

 
 d)  To Express Conditions-
 1) If I go to school I shall become wise.  2) If she comes, I'll not play.


e) To express what actually occurring in the present plan
1) Here comes the bus!   2) There she goes!


f) To Express activities in progress, commentaries.
1) Ram gets the ball,kicks it and scores a goal.    2) He hits the ball and runs to the other side.

1.    I exercise daily.
2.    You play cricket.
3.    Two and two make four.
4.    We leave for Pune tomorrow morning.
5.    The train always run on time.
6.    They write a letter.
7.    He speaks fluent English.
8.    She usually comes late.
