Present Perfect Tense
The present perfect denotes an action completed at the time of speaking and express an action beginning at sometime in the past and continuing up to the present time.We will learn present perfect tense uses and examples.

Singular Plural In the present perfect tense use third form of the verb.
I have taken We have taken If subject is singular has is used. But, if subject is plural, have
You have taken You have taken is used and with I and you, have is used.
He has taken
She has taken They have taken
It has taken
Rule-Subject+have/has + Verb third form
Eg : They have written the letter.
Uses of present perfect tense:-
a) It indicates activities completed in the recent past.
Eg 1)She has just left the hall. 2) I have taken his permission.
b) To express past action whose time is not definite.
Eg 1) He has applied for the post. 2) I have seen the movie 'Titanic'.
c) To represent a past action that continues up to the present moment.
Eg 1) I have learnt French for a year. 2) I have known him for many days.
d) Repeated habitual action.
Eg: I have watched him on TV several times. 2) I have often met her.

1. I have learnt my lesson.
2. You have done your work very well.
3. Geeta has arrived in Pune this morning.
4. The child has just slept.
5. They have written the letter.
6. I have finished my lunch,now I can sleep.
7. Our boss has called a meeting.
8. He has applied for the post.
9. My family has lived in Mumbai city for twenty years.
10. We are friends since school days.
