To indicate an action completed in the past and express past habit.We will learn about simple past tense uses and examples.

Singular Plural In the simple past tense with every subject of singular and plural second

It took
Rule:- Subject+ Second form of the Verb+Object
Eg: 1) The bell rang. 2) I wrote down his address.
Uses of simple past tense:
a) To denote an action in the past.
Eg: 1) I wrote a letter to Shyam 2) He went away.
b) To denote a habitual action in the past.
Eg :1) The teacher always carried an umbrella. 2) Kedar studied many hours everyday.
c) To indicate an action going on at the time
Eg :1) While Ram danced his sister sang. 2) I was watching TV when the telephone rang.
